I went home, took an astronomy class and later started hunting Northern Lights, which got me curious about what else happens around the world after dark."

There are also now more than 200 Dark Sky Reserves across the globe. "The great thing about the night sky is the perspective it gives you – it's humbling and grounding," she says.
